The Emirates Amateur Golf League (EAGL) has been conceptualized as the world's first golf league comprising franchisee-owned teams, with the objectives to:
"To create value through amateur golf for all stakeholders - Team Owners, Players, Sponsors, Partners and Organizers, and contribute to the promotion of Golf in the UAE."
The EAGL is the brainchild of Mr. Sudesh Aggarwal, a passionate and well-known amateur golfer and Chairman of Giant Group of Companies based in Dubai, supported by his team and a majority of amateur golfers in the region.
The EAGL shall be managed by Giant Entertainment & Events DMCC, a group event management company.
The EAGL shall be played at some of the most iconic and world-class golf courses in the UAE. Each season of nine rounds shall be played on 4-5 courses, giving a unique experience to amateur golfers. Golf courses under consideration are:
The Emirates Amateur Golf League (EAGL) will be contested by eight franchisee-owned teams in round robin league under various match play formats of the game.
There will be seven rounds of league matches, thus ensuring each team plays against the other seven teams. This will be followed by semi-finals and the Finals.

Each team will play one round of golf against other teams in a Round Robin format. Thus, with all eight teams playing Round 1, there will be 4 Groups with 6 or 12 Matches in each Group as illustrated below:
A total of 96 amateur golfers will compete in any given round. This will be repeated for the subsequent rounds.
The matches will be played under one of the following formats
Amateur Golfers: 14 Index
Winner of each Match will fetch 2 points for the Team, while the loser gets 0 point. In case of halve, both teams will get one point each.
The above stated format of play may be revised at the discretion of Franchiser
EAGL shall be played in the months when the weather conditions are perfectly suited for Golf in the UAE.
